De los “estallidos” provinciales a la generalización de las protestas en la Argentina : perspectiva y contexto en la significación de las nuevas protestas

Abstract

En este artículo se presta atención a dos ejes analíticos que contribuyen a la significación de las nuevas formas de protesta social aparecidas en la Argentina en los años 1990 y 2000. El primer eje es temporal y permite comprender las nuevas modalidades de conflicto social en una perspectiva histórica de la acción. El segundo eje está representado por los cambios producidos en el sistema político con el advenimiento de la Alianza al gobierno en 1999, como contexto de la generalización de las protestas entre 2000 y 2001. En ambas dimensiones se destacan las relaciones que la protesta social mantiene con las viejas formas de ciudadanía y las potencialidades de formas nuevas.

From the provincials “break outs” to the generalizatio of the protests in Argentina. Perspective and context in the significance of the new protests. This article focuses in two analytical axis that help to give a meaning to the new forms of social protest that emerged in Argentina in the period 1990-2000. The first axis is temporal and allows us to understand the new modalities of social conflict against the background of a historical perspective centered on action. The second is built around the changes in the political system brought by advent of the Alianza, as the context of the generalization of protest in 2000 and 2001. In both dimensions the relations of social protest with the old, and the potentially new, citizenship features is emphasized.
