El papel que nos toca

Abstract

“El papel que nos toca” es el nombre de la exposición colectiva que compartimos durante el mes de octubre en la Sala Rosa de los Vientos de la Universidad Nacional de Quilmes. En este caso, atentos a la polisemia del concepto “papel”, la referencia fue doble. Por un lado, la materialidad del papel como soporte y textura para realizaciones artísticas y escriturarias y, por otro lado, la acepción del término como el rol, lugar y compromiso que cada uno de nosotros asume en el actual contexto de época y en la conformación de un espacio colectivo. Las obras realizadas con papel ocuparon el espacio aéreo y se extendieron por paredes y vitrinas con diversidad de formatos –plano, calado, plegado–, redimensionando en esta dirección las posibilidades materiales del papel –textura, color, peso, pliegues, llenos y huecos.”

“The paper that touches us” is the name of the collective exhibition that we share during the month of October in the Sala Rosa de los Vientos of the National University of Quilmes. In this case, attentive to the polysemy of the "paper" concept, the reference was twofold. On the one hand, the materiality of the paper as support and texture for artistic and writing achievements and, on the other hand, the meaning of the term as the role, place and commitment that each of us assumes in the current context of time and in the conformation of a collective space. The works made with paper occupied the airspace and were extended by walls and showcases with a variety of formats - flat, openwork, folded -, resizing in this direction the material possibilities of the paper - texture, color, weight, folds, full and hollow.
