Las representaciones sociales de los problemas ambientales de la provincia del Chaco : el caso de la Cátedra Optativa de Educación Ambiental de la Universidad Nacional del Nordeste

Abstract

Esta tesis se centró en el análisis de las representaciones sociales de los problemas ambientales de la Provincia del Chaco desde los aportes de un grupo de alumnos de las Carreras de Ingeniería Civil y Arquitectura, en el marco del cursado de la Cátedra Optativa de Educación Ambiental (COEA)-Universidad Nacional del Nordeste (UNNE), correspondiente al cursado del año 2015. En este sentido la COEA, intenta hacer un aporte a la complejidad de los temas ambientales desde enfoques integradores de la Educación Ambiental. Partiendo de la pregunta, cuáles eran esas Representaciones Sociales (RS) de los alumnos acerca de lo que comprendían por problemas ambientales, con cuáles se identificaban y qué proponían para poder solucionarlos. Para dar respuesta a estas preguntas, se realizó una selección teórica de autores que trabajan las Representaciones Sociales desde teorías contemporáneas, con los aportes de Moscovici y Jodelet, quienes proponen tres dimensiones, a saber: “información”, “campo de representación” y “actitud”. Y con los aportes de Calixto Flores quien identifica cinco tipos de RS: las naturalistas, globalizantes, antropocéntricas utilitarista, antropocéntrica pactuada y antropocéntrica cultural. En segundo lugar se realizó una caracterización del perfil del grupo de alumnos, con un total de 107 alumnos, identificando edad, sexo, lugar de procedencia, entre otros datos relevantes. Y por último se analizaron las RS de conceptos troncales que aparecen en esta tesis, como “ambiente”, “problemas ambientales” y “educación ambiental”, tanto al inicio como al final del cursado de la COEA, permitiendo comparar los cambios a los que se arribó como resultados finales. La metodología utilizada se basó en una investigación de tipo cualitativa e interpretativa al momento de medir las variables, con la finalidad de llegar a conocer las representaciones sociales de los alumnos de la Cátedra Optativa de Educación Ambiental en la Universidad Nacional del Nordeste.

This thesis focused on the analysis of the social representations of the environmental problems of the Province of Chaco from the contributions of a group of students of the Civil Engineering and Architecture Careers, in the framework of the Optional Environmental Education Cathedra (COEA) - National University of the Northeast (UNNE), corresponding to the course of 2015. In this sense, COEA tries to make a contribution to the complexity of environmental issues from integrative approaches to Environmental Education. Based on the question, what were these Social Representations (SR) of students about what they understood by environmental problems, what they were identified and what they proposed to solve them.In order to answer these questions, a theoretical selection was made of authors who work in Social Representations from contemporary theories, with the contributions of Moscovici and Jodelet, who propose three dimensions, namely: "information", "field of representation" and "attitude". And with the contributions of Calixto Flores who identifies five types of SR: the naturalistic, globalizing, anthropocentric utilitarian, anthropocentric pactuada and anthropocentric cultural. In the second place, a characterization of the profile of the group of students, with a total of 107 students, identifying age, sex, place of origin, and other relevant data. Finally, we analyzed the SRs of core concepts that appear in this thesis, such as "environment", "environmental problems" and "environmental education", both at the beginning and at the end of the COEA curriculum, allowing to compare the changes that were arrived at as final results. The methodology used was based on qualitative and interpretative research at the moment of measuring the variables, in order to get to know the social representations of the students of the Optional Environmental Education Cathedra at the National University of the Northeast.
