Economic policy and industrial performance in Argentina during the Alliance Let's change : balance and perspectives
Abstract
Las políticas aplicadas por el gobierno de Mauricio Macri marcaron un punto de inflexión respecto a los lineamientos que guiaron la política económica argentina durante más de una década . El presente trabajo tiene por objetivo examinar las consecuencias de estos cambios sobre el desempeño del sector manufacturero. Para ello, luego de presentar un análisis de las características salientes del nuevo contexto macroeconómico y las principales políticas implementadas, nos centraremos en indagar el impacto que estas han tenido sobre el desempeño industrial, y las diferencias que la actual orientación presenta con relación a la etapa previa (2003-2015). The policies applied by the Macri administration marked a turning point with respect to the guidelines that had been guiding the economic path of Argentina during the last decade. The objective of this paper is to examine the consequences of certain measures on the performance of the manufacturing industry. To this end, after presenting an overview of the key characteristics of the new macroeconomic context and the main economic policies implemented, we focus the analysis on their impact on the industrial performance, and the differences that the current policy presents in relation to the previous period (2003-2015).
