De iglesias y pabellones inventados. : paradigmas carcelarios y “conversiones religiosas”

Abstract

¿Cuál es el origen de los pabellones pentecostales diseminados hoy en prácticamente todos las unidades penales de la provincia de Buenos Aires? A partir de los testimonios de los actores del proceso se relata cuándo y dónde comenzó el proceso expansivo que llevó a que, en algo menos de 30 años, algunas fuentes sostengan que el cuarenta por ciento de los internos de las cárceles bonaerenses transcurran su detención en pabellones pentecostales. La indagación se amplía a tratar de definir cuál fue el contexto institucional, nacional y carcelario, en que se originó el fenómeno, quiénes fueron sus actores originales, a qué necesidades, conflictos e intereses respondían y qué objetivos no manifiestos perseguían.

What is the origin of the Pentecostal pavilions scattered today in virtually all prison facilities in the province of Buenos Aires? From the testimonies of the participants in the process trying to expound when and where it began the process of expansion that led in just under 30 years, some sources hold that forty percent of prison inmates in detention elapsed Buenos Aires Pentecostals in pavilions.
