En este artículo me propongo utilizar métodos conjuntistas para elaborar la teoría del ritmo musical. Partiendo de una noción de estructura musical rigurosamente definida, el trabajo desarrolla los conceptos básicos de la teoría del ritmo extendiendo los conceptos presentados en Lara (inédito) para poder plantear posteriormente un modelo para la teoría musical que comprenda tanto la teoría de las alturas como la del ritmo.; My aim in this paper is to use set-theoretical methods in order to elaborate a theory of musical rhythm. Departing from a rigorously defined notion of musical structure, it develops the basic concepts of the theory of rhythm, extending the concepts presented in Lara (unpublished) in order to propose a model for musical theory that embraces both the theory of pitches and that of rhythm.

En filosofía especial de la ciencia se hace necesario disponer de criterios de justificación de las reconstrucciones propuestas. Pero los filósofos se han ocupado mucho de la justificación de las teorías y poco de la justificación de las reconstrucciones de las teorías. Para precisar los criterios de justificación de las reconstrucciones propongo una analogía con el proceso de justificación de las gramáticas en el ámbito de la lingüística, equiparando la estratificación lenguaje-gramática de lenguaje-teoría general de este proceso con la estratificación correspondiente teoría-reconstrucción de la teoría-metateoría del proceso de justificación de las reconstrucciones. El desarrollo de esta analogía deberá afrontar el establecimiento de condiciones externas y de condiciones internas de adecuación de las reconstrucciones. Defenderé un principio de dependencia estructural de la ontología y la epistemología. Mediante este principio se analizará aspectos básicos de teorías lingüísticas particulares desde el punto de vista del mentalismo y del platonismo.; In philosophy of special sciences is necessary to have criteria of justification of the proposed reconstructions. But the philosophers have dedicated a lot of time to the justification of theories and little to the justification of the reconstructions of theories. I propose, for specifying the criteria of justification of reconstructions, an analogy with the process of justification of grammars in the environment of linguistics, and I compare the language-grammar of language-general theory stratification of that process with the theory-reconstruction of the theory-metatheory stratification corresponding to the process of justification of reconstructions. The development of this analogy will face the establishment of external conditions and of internal conditions of adequacy of reconstructions. I will defend a principle of structural dependence of ontology and epistemology. By means of this principle it will be analyzed basic aspects of particular linguistic theories from the point of view of mentalism and of Platonism.

En este trabajo se ofrece una primera versión de una reconstrucción estructuralista de la teoría de epiciclos y deferentes propuesta por Claudio Ptolomeo en el Almagesto para explicar el movimiento planetario, con especial interés en aquellos aspectos que permitan llegar al cálculo de la distancia de los planetas ofrecida el mismo Ptolomeo en Las hipótesis planetarias.; This paper offers a first version of a structuralist reconstruction of the theory of epicycles and deferents proposed by Claudius Ptolemy in the Almagest to explain planetary motion, with special interest in those aspects that allow us to calculate the distance of the planets offered by Ptolemy himself in Planetary Hypotheses.

En la primera parte del trabajo se llevarán a cabo algunos comentarios introductorios, que enmarcan la visión del trabajo de formalización como tarea reconstructiva de las teorías científicas. La segunda parte del trabajo se divide a su vez en dos etapas. En la primera de éstas se introduce una presentación de las primeras teorías de la gramática chomskiana, que aparecieron en Syntactic Structures (Chomsky 1957) y The Logical Structure of Lingusitic Theory (Chomsky 1975); y a continuación en Aspects of the Theory of Syntax (Chosmky 1965). En la segunda, se presentan y comentan ejemplos de reconstrucción de dichas teorías (Peris-Viñé 1990, Quesada 1990, Gonzalo 2001 y Gonzalo & Balzer 2006). Finalmente, se comparan las reconstrucciones presentadas y se extraen algunas conclusiones, que se centran en mostrar cómo los procesos reconstructivos no son meros ejercicios de formalización, sino que en aquellos operan fuertes mediaciones interpretativas y tomas de decisión con relación a la selección de los componentes metateóricos, de modo de probar cómo éstas mediatizan inexorablemente gran parte de la labor reconstructiva.; In the first part of the work some introductory remarks are carried out, framing the view of the work of formalization as reconstructive task of scientific theories. The second part of the work is divided into two stages. In the first one a presentation of Chomsky’s first theories of Grammar are inserted. They were presented in: Syntactic Structures (Chomsky 1957) and The Logical Structure of the Linguistic Theory (Chomsky 1975); and then in Aspects of the Theory of Syntax (Chomsky 1965). Some examples of reconstruction of these theories are presented and discussed (Peris-Viñé 1990, Quesada 1990, Gonzalo 2001 and Gonzalo & Balzer 2006). Finally, the named reconstructions are compared and some conclusions are extracted. They focus on showing how reconstructive processes are not mere exercises of formalization, but there are strong interpretive mediations operating on them, and also decisions in relation to the selection of metatheoretical components, so as to prove that these aspects have inevitable influences on the reconstructive work.
